Who needs a CSR card?

Nearly every main contractor in Northern Ireland asks to see a valid CSR card at the site gate. The card is issued through the Construction Employers Federation’s Construction Skills Register and proves approved health and safety training. The course suits:

  • Anyone starting their first construction job in Fermanagh or the west
  • Tradespeople, labourers and plant operatives needing a new or renewed card
  • Self-employed builders, and farm-building and agri-construction contractors
  • Republic of Ireland-based workers with jobs on Northern Ireland sites
  • Supervisors and visitors who need site access
  • Workers from Lisnaskea, Irvinestown, Kesh, Belleek, Belcoo and Derrylin

What to bring on the day

  • Photo ID
  • Your National Insurance number – without a UK NI number the card is valid for one year
  • Arrive 15 minutes early

You must be 16 or over to be issued a card, and you need good spoken and written English.

It also suits workers from Cavan, Leitrim, Monaghan and south Donegal who take jobs on Northern Ireland sites. Company group training is available too.
