Accredited Confined Space Training in Ireland

About this Course

Irish law is clear: avoid confined space entry where you can, and where you can’t, only trained and competent people go in under a safe system of work.

That duty comes from the Confined Spaces Regulations 2001 and the HSA’s 2017 Code of Practice.

This course gives operatives that competence in a single day. They practise the full sequence in our Dublin rig: assess, test, ventilate, enter, monitor and, if the air turns bad, escape on breathing apparatus.

Who Should Attend

The course is built for anyone in Ireland who enters, or controls entry to, a confined space, including:

  • Uisce Éireann contractors and wastewater, pumping station and sewer crews
  • Telecoms, ESB Networks and gas network contractors working in chambers and ducts
  • Civil engineering, drainage and groundworks teams
  • Maintenance technicians in pharma, food, dairy and manufacturing plants
  • Farm and agri workers dealing with slurry pits, grain bins and silos
  • Supervisors and safety officers who write permits and plan entries

Delegates must be physically fit to take part in the practical entry exercises.

Course Aims

To make sure every delegate can recognise a confined space, follow the safe system of work and permit, and use gas detection and entry equipment correctly.

Delegates will also be able to get out safely with escape breathing apparatus, in line with Irish confined space law.
