This programme is designed for managers, supervisors and operatives who are required to plan, organise, direct, control and manage the safe free flow of traffic through roadworks in rural and urban situations.
Aim
To provide the candidates with the required knowledge and skills to effectively set up and remove traffic management operations on single carriageway public roads up to 100kph speed limit.

Valid SOLAS Safepass card
Photographic ID (passport or drivers licence)

18yrs +
1 passport photo
9 months roadwork experience operating as a candidate SLG operator in construction
No interpreters – must have B1 level of English in accordance with common European framework of reference ofr languages
Have good colour vision, hearing, full use of trunk & neck & be able to undertake physical activities such as lifting & carrying 6kg cones & traffic signs on frames.

Assessment Method:
This course requires candidates to undergo 2 classroom theory tests and a practical assessment out on the road.
Certification:
Achieve a CSCS ID Card & QQI certification valid for 5 years.
