This course is designed for those delegates who have previously undergone basic ERT training and require refresher training on breathing apparatus equipment and general principles.
Prerequisites
Delegates must be aged 18 or over and medically fit in line with current industry requirements and be previously trained in basic Emergency Rescue Training (ERT) principles.
Aim
To refresh delegates on the key fundamentals of ERT. It will give them a theoretical and practical knowledge on the procedures and use of the rescue types, Breathing Equipment, Fire Equipment and Causality Handling.
Objectives
By the end of the course the delegates will be refreshed on the following:
Basic knowledge of BA sets & procedures
Safe use of BA Sets, BA Tests
Safe and appropriate movement in smoke and darkness
Causality Handling
Incident Command and radio procedures
Basic Entry Control Procedures
Personal Hygiene
Training Methods
Classroom based training with PowerPoint followed by a practical demonstration. Candidates will also put into practice what they have learned by carrying out a practical assessment.
Additional Information
Candidates should bring suitable Personal Protective Equipment such as safety boots, helmet, gloves and hi-vis coat/vest.
For Fire Training all fire protective clothing will be required, fire suit, gloves, wellies or boots and helmet.
Personal facemasks and BA are preferred, however can be supplied.
