NVQ Level 2 Certificate plant operations – Extracting

Course Overview:

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Plant Operations -Extracting Plant qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means the candidate needs to be employed to undertake this qualification. This qualification enables the learner to demonstrate and recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate competence in a real workplace environment.

You’ll be evaluated against a set of performance and knowledge standards generated from your occupational area’s National Occupational Standards. You’ll be evaluated by a certified assessor whose duty it is to work with you and assist you in completing your qualification.

These essential units will provide the individual with important practical skills and knowledge:

• Complying with Workplace Health, Safety, and Welfare Regulations
• Adhering to Workplace Productive Working Practices.

Optional Groups:

• Preparing and operating 180 degree excavators to extract and excavate ground and loose materials in the workplace
• Preparing and operating 360 degree excavators to extract ground, face and/or loose materials in the workplace
• Preparing and operating crawler tractor dozers to carry out dozer operations in the workplace
• Preparing and operating draglines to extract ground and/or loose materials in the workplace
• Preparing and operating motorised scrapers to extract, transport and distribute materials in the workplace
• Preparing and operating suction and vacuum excavators to extract in the workplace
• Preparing and operating tracked loading shovels to extract ground and loose materials in the workplace
• Preparing and operating trenchers to extract ground and/or loose materials in the workplace
