Operatives working on the Openreach underground network and other third-party-owned UG telecom networks carrying out modular joint box installations or repairs.
Course Aim:
Learners will work towards a civils qualification for operatives and engineers that teaches safe and compliant core drilling into underground telecoms jointing chambers
Learning Outcomes:
Site surveys, documentation, and planning for safe excavation.
Selection of appropriate materials and equipment.
Techniques for core drilling into different jointing chambers (concrete, modular, brick, plastic).
Installing Duct 54, 56, and other small ducts.
Adherence to Openreach specifications, safety compliance, and legal requirements.
Safe digging practices and proper reinstatement of the site.

Assessment Method:
This Q019 training course combines theory and practical training methods to ensure delegates gain the knowledge required to prepare them for their assessment. Practical demonstrations and hands-on training is conducted throughout the course.
Certification:
Upon Successful completion of the course, candidates will be issued with a Openreach Certificate valid for 3 years.
