Suitable anyone whose job involves working with underground services and excavation. This accreditation is available to anyone over the age of 16 who is capable of reaching the required standard.
Aim
Learners are equipped with the essential knowledge and skills of planning, safely locating and avoiding underground services.
This includes training on physical identification methods of underground services (e.g. site visual surveys and interpreting any drawings) and using cable avoidance tools and accessories to detect, trance and mark clearly where services have been found, preventing risk of harm to people on site and damage to the services.
Accreditation
Upon successful completion of the course candidates will receive a Smart Awards Certificate which is valid for 3 years.
